Genesis 1
Day 1: God’s Light divides the evening from the morning
Genesis 1:3-5 (KJV), “3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”
Understanding verse 3 …
Genesis 1:3 (KJV), “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
Strong’s Concordance (216) – or: a light. Brown-Driver-Briggs – 1. light as diffused in nature, light of day.
Just like in birth, the darkness (evil) comes before the Light (salvation)
1 John 1:5 (KJV), “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
John 3:21 (KJV), “But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”

Day 2: God divides the heavens from the earth
God separated good from evil by placing a layer (firmament) between heaven and earth
Genesis 1:6-8 (KJV), “6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”
Day 3: The separation of the land (earth) and the water
Day 4: God creates the sun, the moon, and the stars
The difference between verse 3 and verse 14
Genesis 1:14-15 (KJV), “14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years. 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.”

Day 5: Sea creatures and winged birds
Genesis 1:20-21 (KJV), “20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”
Day 6: Livestock, man and woman
Genesis 1:25 (KJV), “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”
Let’s look at a clear distinction
Day 1 God said, Let there be light
Day 2 God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters
Day 3 God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place
God said, Let the earth bring forth grass
Day 4 God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven
Day 5 God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life
Day 6 God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind
Now the word of command (let the) is turned into a word of consultation (Let us)
Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV), “26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. ”
Let us make man. The three persons of the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, consult about it and concur in it, because man, when he was made, was to be dedicated and devoted to Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Genesis 2
Important note: Genesis 2 is not a different account of creation. It is an expansion of, and comment upon, the events of Day Six of creation.

Genesis 2:2 (KJV), “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.”

Right after the earth was created, God had set herbs on the earth but no water, initially
- The third day – no plants but only fruit trees and herbs (from the previous chapter)

The garden in Eden or The Garden of Eden
Genesis 2:8 (KJV), “And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.”
No one really knows if Eden itself is a garden or merely a garden on the east end of Eden
Genesis 2:10 (KJV), “And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.”
The garden and the two trees
Genesis 2:8-9 (KJV), “8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the (1)tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the (2)tree of knowledge of good and evil.”
God creates and created all things and He gives us free will to listen to what we should or should not touch of His creations

Good and evil

- Did God Create animals and then man, as in the first book of Genesis, or did He Create man first, as in the second book?
Genesis 2:19 (KJV), “And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.”
Formed
The Hebrew verb ‘formed’ can be translated as a [1]pluperfect. A better translation would be:
Genesis 2:19 (NIV), “Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.”
[1] (of a tense) denoting an action completed prior to some past point of time specified or implied, formed in English by had and the past participle, as in he had gone by then ; past perfect.
Genesis 3
A perpetual quarrel is here commenced between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil among men
That there is a continual conflict between grace and corruption in the hearts of God’s people
Genesis 3:15 (KJV), “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
Revelation 12:7 (KJV), “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels.”
No sooner was the wound given than the remedy was provided and revealed. Here, in the head of the book, as the word is, in the beginning of the Bible, it is written of Christ, that he should do the will of God
Hebrews 10:7 (KJV), “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.”
Man is therefore sinful and unclean, because he is born of a woman

There is no reason to believe that Mary, mother of Jesus, did not suffer pain during childbirth

The ‘Daughter of Zion’ is a representation of the people of Israel
Micah 4:10 (KJV), “Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the Lord shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.”
Jeremiah 4:31 (KJV), “For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.”
The words, ‘Original Sin’, are never mentioned in the bible
This belief began to emerge in the 3rd century, but only became fully formed with the writings of Augustine of Hippo (354–430 AD), who was the first author to use the phrase “original sin”
Man was intended to live forever by only eating of the tree of life and not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil
Genesis 2:9 (KJV), “And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”
Man now was expelled from the garden and forbidden to return and to ever eat of the tree of life
Genesis 3:22-23 (KJV), “22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever: 23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.”
Micah 3
God will abandon evil leaders who lead God’s people astray
Micah 3:6-7 (KJV), “6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. 7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.”
Micah 4
The place of worship to God was always high atop a mountain
Micah 4:1-2 (KJV), “But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
Micah 4:7 (KJV), “And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the Lord shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even forever.”
God sent the Jews to Babylon to teach and prune them back to His people

2 Corinthians 2
Work hard to NOT cause grief to others but to show love
2 Corinthians 2:5-8 (KJV), “5 But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all. 6 Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. 7 So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. 8 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.”
Paul teaches us to obey the Spirit when He directs you to serve
2 Corinthians 2:12-13 (KJV), “12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord, 13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.”
Proverbs 5
Continuously stay in touch with God (prayer) as you grow as life will throw confusion your way
Proverbs 5:1-2 (KJV), “My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: 2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.”
Proverbs 5:7 (KJV), “Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.”
It is too easy to fall into an evil trap and say, “I can ask for forgiveness”
Proverbs 5:12-14 (KJV), “12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; 13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! 14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.”
Work with God to stay faithful to your spouse
Proverbs 5:17-18 (KJV), “17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. 18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.”
1828 Webster’s – SPOUSE, noun [Latin , to engage.] One engaged or joined in wedlock; a married person, husband or wife. We say of a man, that he is the spouse of such a woman; or of a woman, she is the spouse of such a man.

The diverse meanings of the words ‘poor’ and ‘rich’
Proverbs 10:4-5 (KJV), “4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. 5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.”
These two words have different meanings depending on where in the scriptures you find them and also within each scriptures context
In this case, we are told that laziness leads to poverty and working hard can lead to riches
Poor
Strong’s Concordance (7326) – rush: to be in want or poor. Brown-Driver-Briggs – verb be in want, poor.
Rich
Strong’s Concordance (6238) – ashar: to be or become rich. Brown-Driver-Briggs – 2. gain riches.
Romans 4
We live by faith not by works alone
Romans 4:2-4 (KJV), “2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.”
Genesis 15:6 (KJV), “And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”
Though the following verses may be hard to follow, the bottom line is circumcision (by law) or uncircumcision (by faith), righteousness only comes from faith; we are then ‘circumcised’ in Jesus
Romans 4:9-12 (KJV), “9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. 11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: 12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.”
The proof of Abraham’s faith was abundant when told he would father a child at 100 years old
Romans 4:20-22 (KJV), “20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.”
