THE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
It is better to think through your course of action than to jump right in without thought
“The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.”
Proverbs 21:5 (KJV)
Song of Solomon 7
The Bridegroom (Jesus) describes the bride (the church) of its transformation from their earthly form to their heavenly form with a lack of nothing but exceedingly rich in beauty
Song of Solomon 7:1-9
Excerpt
Song of Solomon 7:5-6 (KJV), “5 Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries. 6 How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!”
The churches acceptance of their salvation
Song of Solomon 7:10 (KJV), “I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me.”
Micah
The name Micah comes from the Hebrew word Micayehû, which means “who is like Jehovah?” indicating that men named Micah had parents who were devout believers in Yahweh.
Micah was a prophet in Judah for 59 years, during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. He prophesied in Judah while Hosea and Amos prophesied in Israel, and he was a contemporary of the prophet Isaiah.
It was the prophet Micah who foretold of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem
Micah 5:2 (KJV), “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”
Matthew 2:6 (KJV), “And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.”
Micah 1
The Word of the Lord came to Micah most likely in a dream or vision
Micah 1:1 (KJV), “The word of the Lord that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.”
Isaiah’s prophecy is said to be concerning Judah and Jerusalem, but Micah’s concerning Samaria and Jerusalem
Micah 1:5 (KJV), “For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?”
The transgressions of Samaria
Micah 1:7 (KJV), “And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.”
Lamentations 5
A Prayer for Restoration and repentance
Lamentations 5:21-22 (KJV), “21 Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. 22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.”
Proverbs 21
God will judge you by your heart and your actions. No amount of sacrifices will ever outweigh what your heart actually shows
Proverbs 21:3 (KJV), “To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”
It is better to think through your course of action than to jump right in without thought
Proverbs 21:5 (KJV), “The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.”
A way to stay away from trouble
Proverbs 21:23 (KJV), “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.”
Romans 2
God’s Righteous Judgment
Romans 2:1-5 (KJV), “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. 2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. 3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.”
God is the do all and see all of all judgment
Romans 2:6-9 (KJV), “6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile.”
If you sin either with the law or without the law, it makes no difference. In any situation, just hearing the law does not save you but DOERS of the law shall be justified
Romans 2:12-14 (KJV), “12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves.”
The Jews, God’s chosen, are no more righteous than the Gentiles if you do not practice what you preach (hypocrites)
Romans 2:21-22 (KJV), “21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? 22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?”
Circumcision regardless of the law is foolishness if you do not keep the law; circumcision should be of the heart
Romans 2:28-29 (KJV), “28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.”
