THE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
HE HAS RISEN!!
“For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.”
Psalm 16:10 (KJV)
“10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.”
Isaiah 53:10-11 (KJV)
“5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
Matthew 28:5-6 (KJV)

The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins
Upon your initial acceptance of Jesus Christ, as you begin to see the light
Matthew 25:1 (KJV), “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.”
Was your initial acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Saviour established on fertile ground? Did you allow the Holy Spirit to reign over you and reside permanently in you?
Matthew 25:2-4 (KJV), “2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.”
The trumpet blast at the coming of the Lord
Matthew 25:5-6 (KJV), “While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.”
1 Thessalonians 4:15-16 (KJV), “15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.”
Of those who give the excuse of, “I have plenty of time, I’ll say the prayer of salvation right before the Lord takes me”.
Matthew 25:8-10 (KJV), “8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.”
Matthew 25:13 (KJV), “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”
The Parable of the Talents (The Great Commission [Matthew 28:18-20])
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV), “18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 25:20-23 (KJV), “20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
The great commission of Jesus was not a suggestion, but a command… why?
Mark 13:10 (KJV), “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.”
Matthew 24:14 (KJV), “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
Matthew 25:31-33 (KJV), “31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.”
Be doers of the Word [James 1:22]
Matthew 22:37-40 (KJV), “37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Matthew 25:37-40 (KJV), “37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Hosea 6
Repent
Hosea 6:1 (KJV), “Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.”
Strong’s Concordance (7725) – shub: to turn back, return. Brown-Driver-Briggs – 6. figurative, specifically of spiritual relations: c. turn back to God.
Matthew 3:2 (KJV), “And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Strong’s Concordance (3340) – metanoeó: to change one’s mind or purpose. Thayer’s Greek Lexicon – to change one’s mind for the better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins.
In the New Testament, the same word used for repent (metanoeo) is essentially the same for repentance (metanoia) where one is a verb and one is a noun. A person is said to need to repent (metanoeo) and then they show repentance (metanoia). There are two words for repentance in the Old Testament Hebrew. The overwhelming majority of the time it is used it means “turn” or “return” (“shuwb”).
On the third day
Hosea 6:2 (KJV), “After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.”
Matthew 17:23 (KJV), “And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.”
The prophecy of Jesus only eliminating the holy sacrifice of man
Hosea 6:6 (KJV), “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”
Jeremiah 40 Jeremiah with Gedaliah the Governor
God will place you in a barren place [trials in your life] to grow you
John 16:33 (KJV), “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Jeremiah 40:8-9 (KJV), “8 Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men. 9 And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.”

Ezekiel 38
Gog and Magog
Ezekiel 38:1-2 (KJV), “And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him.”
Magog was a grandson of Noah
Genesis 10:2 (KJV), “The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.”
Revelation 20:7-8 (KJV), “7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”
It is important to recognize that the Gog and Magog of Ezekiel 38-39 is quite different from the one in Revelation 20:7-8.

1. In the battle of Ezekiel 38-39, the armies come primarily from the north and involve only a few nations of the earth (Ezekiel 38:6, 15; 39:2). The battle in Revelation 20:7-9 will involve all nations, so armies will come from all directions, not just from the north.
2. There is no mention of Satan in the context of Ezekiel 38-39. In Revelation 20:7 the context clearly places the battle at the end of the millennium with Satan as the primary character.
3. Ezekiel 39:11–12 states that the dead will be buried for seven months. There would be no need to bury the dead if the battle in Ezekiel 38—39 is the one described in Revelation 20:8–9, for immediately following Revelation 20:8–9 is the Great White Throne judgment (20:11–15) and then the present heaven and earth are destroyed, replaced by a new heaven and earth (Revelation 21:1). There obviously will be a need to bury the dead if the battle takes place before or in the early part of the tribulation, for the land of Israel will be occupied for another 1,000 years, the length of the millennial kingdom (Revelation 20:4–6).
4. The battle in Ezekiel 38-39 is used by God to bring Israel back to Him (Ezekiel 39:21-29). In Revelation 20, Israel has been faithful to God for 1,000 years (the millennial kingdom). Those in Revelation 20:7-10 who are rebellious are destroyed without any more opportunity for repentance. [return]
