THE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Choose your words wisely
“8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.”
James 3:8-10 (KJV)
Matthew 12
The Unpardonable Sin
Matthew 12:32 (KJV), “And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”
All through the bible, trees and mankind are paralleled by their seeds and by their fruits
Matthew 12:33 (KJV), “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.”

Did you stop to think why the bible spend an abundant amount of time teaching on the topic of how vile the tongue can be?
Matthew 12:36-37 (KJV), “36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
God’s Word mentions the tongue in over 120 passages, and many of those are cautions about using it wisely. Learning to control how we speak – to the Lord and to others – is one of the vital parts of our growth as Christians
Jesus foretold years ago how each and every subsequent generation would become more evil than the last
Matthew 12:43-45 (KJV), “43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”
Daniel 5
539 B.C. (64 years after the end of chapter 4) King Belshazzar’s Great Feast, vision of Man’s handwriting on the wall, Daniel’s interpretation & Belshazzar is conquered that night by Cyrus the Great w/ Darius the Mede becoming governor/king.

Nebuchadnezzar was Belshazzar’s grand-father
Daniel 5:11 (KJV), “There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.”
Belshazzar did not follow in his grand-father’s footsteps
Daniel 5:22 (KJV), “And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this.”
Jeremiah 27
God also tells Jeremiah of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar
Jeremiah 27:4-6 (KJV), “4 And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters; 5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me. 6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.”
Proverbs 29 Read
Ezekiel 25
God still today will protect His children and bring ultimate judgement to evil
Ezekiel 25:6-7 (KJV), “6 For thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel [His children]; 7 Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.”
Ezekiel 25:12-13 (KJV), “12 Thus saith the Lord God; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah [His children] by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them; 13 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.”
