THE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The loyalty and security in Wisdom
“4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. 5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. 6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.”
Proverbs 4:4-8 (KJV)
Cement the following 3 verses in your heart. Do NOT ever let them escape or be taken from you. Establish for yourself the undisputed ‘fear of the Lord’, take it by the Hand and allow it to guide you every step of the way through life.
“5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
No truer words will you ever hear
II Peter 1
“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 1:1 (KJV)
God tells us through Peter that ALL of the knowledge you will ever need during your stay here on earth is readily available in God’s Word. Continue to learn and deepen your relationship with God through His divine power which He has spoken to the prophets.
“16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV), “2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
2 Peter 1:5-7 (KJV), “5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.”
A litmus test for your salvation
2 Peter 1:8-10 (KJV), “8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:.”
The true witnessing of Jesus’ resurrection
2 Peter 1:16 (KJV), “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.”
2 Peter 1:18 (KJV), “And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.”
All the words in scripture are from God
2 Peter 1:20-21 (KJV), “20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
Hebrews 8 The New Priestly Service
Some cults on earth today still practice the law
Hebrews 8:4-5 (KJV), “4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.”
The Old Covenant is obsolete
Hebrews 8:13 (KJV), “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.”
Jeremiah 12
Just as God had forgiven the Jews many times in the past, He will continue to BUT true justice shall be served.
Jeremiah 12:16-17 (KJV), “16 And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The Lord liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people. 17 But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the Lord.”
Our truly gracious and loving Father continues to forgive and forget our sins
Hebrews 8:12 (KJV), “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
Isaiah 43:25 (KJV), “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.”
Hebrews 10:17 (KJV), “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”
Proverbs 4 Security in Wisdom (Read)
Proverbs 4:4-8 (KJV), “4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
Ezekiel 11 Judgment on Wicked Counselors
God has continued throughout history to clean up, forgive, and restore
For no one should ever say that God is not forgiving
Ezekiel 11:17-21 (KJV), “17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. 19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord God.”
John had much of the same visons and experiences as Ezekiel
